Are you looking for a high-quality, durable, easy-to-install and low-cost product to create a wooden terrace? The Jouplast joist pedestal meets the requirements of professionals in the trade and offers easy-to-use products for private individuals. The pedestal is necessary to lay a raised terrace, in order to catch up with a height for example. Making a wooden terrace on pedestals is an inexpensive, quick to install and durable method. The preparation of the ground, the laying and the finishing of your terrace are done in less than 3 days for a trendy result. Only intended for outdoor and pedestrian use, the pedestal provides long-lasting support for your outdoor construction.
Simplified site preparation
To properly support your terrace, the joist pedestal must be installed on a previously prepared site, except in the case of installation on a concrete slab. In fact, the pedestal must be firmly held by a level and stable ground so that your terrace does not move over time.
Preparing the site does not require any major work and is accessible to everyone, whether you are a do-it-yourselfer or not. Indeed, simple, inexpensive and quick, this compulsory step must be carried out with care to enjoy your structure in the long term. Here are a few steps to be carried out to prepare the ground for the terrace:
- Make a 15 cm deep earthwork;
- Put a geotextile felt on it to prevent weeds from growing;
- Cover it with 15 cm of gravel and compact it.
Remember that it is essential that the surface of your future terrace does not sink and that it must be level.
Installation on any surface
The enormous advantage of the pedestal for joist is its practicality. Within everyone's reach, it adapts to all supports to install a wooden terrace on pedestal that can be laid on earth, grass, concrete or on an existing deck surface. Laying a wooden terrace on soft ground will meet your needs and facilitate the creation of your terrace. The pedestal is a significant time saver since it is laid on the ground without glue or screws. Professionals appreciate it for its time saving, while private individuals appreciate it for its quick installation.
Easy and quick to install
After preparing the ground, you will be surprised at how easy it is to lay the pedestal and the joists. Your terrace is laid in less than 3 days without any additional tools and without having to pay a professional! Adjustable, solid and durable, the wood terrace pedestal holds your terrace firmly in place no matter what use is made of it.
Installation is a simple 4-step process:
- Place the pedestals on the ground, keeping the required distance between them. We advise you to leave 70 cm between each adjustable joist pedestal. In this way, the loads are evenly distributed over the entire terrace. Adjust the pedestal for terrace to the millimeter using the adjustment ring ;
- Place the joists on the heads of the pedestals. Then make sure that the structure is level;
- Screw the joists with wood screws, count 2 for this step;
- Finish by screwing the natural wood or composite wood strips onto the joists. Necessary tools: screwdriver and wood screws.
Once the joists have been installed, it is possible to finish the wood terrace on pedestal at the end or along the entire length of the joists. To do this, simply attach the cladding support to the base of the joist terrace pedestal and secure it with a screw. Then position the joists in order to create an aesthetic and trendy terrace. You will then have to fix the finishes with screws and that's it! This technique makes it possible to close the terrace laterally and hide the pedestals located under the surface.
Resistant and durable
To ensure that your wooden terrace on a pedestal is maintained while being secure, the pedestal for joist is designed to be resistant to many external elements:
- Withstand temperature variations from - 30°C to + 60°C, without deterioration;
- Non-reactive to acid and chemical products from swimming pools;
- Maximum load per pedestal: 1 ton. Ideal for daily use.
- Ingelible, the pedestal is also UV resistant.
The compliance of the terrace pedestals with standards 51.4 and 43.1 allows for the correct installation of the terrace. Made in France, the pedestal is made of polypropylene, an ultra-resistant and durable material. Jouplast offers the best for demanding customers who wish to create a safe and durable wooden terrace on adjustable pedestal.
The installation of a terrace on a pedestal is the easiest and quickest method to set up: follow the assembly steps and build your terrace in less than 3 days!
