To proceed with the installation of your slab terrace on pedestals, you will not need to pour a concrete slab, which will require waiting a month after preparation before you can lay your deck. Nor will you need to use glue mortar or an industrial vacuum cleaner to ensure that your lot is free of imperfections. Thanks to the pedestals for slab or tile decks, preparation is very easy.
If your floor is a concrete slab or an old terrace, then you won't have anything more to do before laying. However, on soil or grass, relatively unstable surfaces, you will need a little preparation. You will need to dig 15 cm deep and then cover it with a geotextile felt to prevent weeds from invading. Finally, 15 cm of gravel must be covered and compacted to provide a stable surface. Only four steps are required to install your slab terrace on pedestals. After preparing your site, the first step is to simply lay the pedestal for terrace on the ground at the right distance. The distance between each pedestal depends on the size of the slab.
Once you have the desired height for all the pedestals, lay the slabs or terrace tiles on top of the head of the pedestals. Each pedestal has 4 lugs to hold the slab or flooring in place. Tip: add a damping wedge on each pedestal to reduce vibration and noise.
Finally, you can make the cut-outs for the lateral closure of the terrace. For the final additions, use the covering support and the slab plate, they help to keep the slabs terrace vertical. There is no need to pour joints.
Rinno slab pedestal: resistant and long-lasting
The pedestals for terrace are made of polypropylene, a recyclable but also very resistant material. Indeed, each pedestal can support up to one ton of load. It is resistant to atmospheric agents such as frost or UV rays, to acid and basic solutions, and can withstand temperature variations from -30° to +60°.
The pedestals for tile or slab have a perforated base that allows rainwater to drain off. You no longer need to create a slope on your property for water drainage. The fact that the finishes do not require joints also allows rainwater to run off easily, thus maintaining your terrace over time and avoiding, for example, the formation of unpleasant odors due to the stagnation of rainwater.
