Insulation buffers for wooden deck – EDMA
The insulation buffer is an accessory designed for laying wooden and composite decking on joist pedestals. It isolates the joist from the ground and thus protects it against humidity and the deterioration that it can cause. In addition, it provides sound insulation by reducing noise pollution related to movement on the raised terrace.
Use of the insulation buffer for joist pedestal
Once the receiving surface of your future terrace has been prepared, i.e. solid and level; you will be able to place your pedestals on the ground. Once these two steps have been completed, place the insulation buffer on flat, perfectly compact ground.
Stable and shape-retaining, the insulation buffer offers an extended life expectancy to your terrace on pedestal. The protection provided by the insulation buffer to the joists of the terrace structure helps preserve their condition over the years. Indeed, damage to the joists by too high a humidity level would weaken the structure of the terrace.
When installing a raised terrace, a natural phenomenon appears: resonance. Thanks to the insulation buffer, the noises emanating from the passages on the terrace are then muffled providing optimal comfort.
