The Jouplast 8–20 mm adjustable joist pedestal is a high-performance support designed for building durable, stable and well-ventilated decking structures. Its precise adjustment system allows you to raise your joists from 8 to 20 mm, ensuring a perfect installation even on slightly uneven surfaces.

This pedestal allows you to build a deck without heavy groundwork, offering a fast, clean and cost-effective solution for wooden and composite decking projects.

Engineered in polypropylene, the pedestal is fully resistant to UV, frost, humidity and outdoor conditions, guaranteeing long-lasting stability for your deck.

Installation Tips

• Install pedestals on stable ground or on an existing concrete slab.

• This model is suitable for pedestrian use only.

• Use natural wood or aluminium joists (not composite joists) for optimal stability.

This pedestal is not compatible with porcelain stoneware (ceramic) slabs.

Compatible with bitumen waterproofing membranes

All our pedestals can be installed on bitumen or PVC membranes, with the right precautions:

Recommended pedestals on membranes:

• Polypropylene (PP) adjustable pedestals with a wide, smooth base

• Models labelled as membrane-compatible

• Optional rubber pads or protective shock-absorbing tiles to:

  • Protect the membrane

  • Spread loads

  • Prevent slipping

Not compatible:

• Metal pedestals (risk of puncturing the membrane)

• Pedestals with narrow bases or no rubber protection

• Pedestals requiring screws or anchors (never allowed on waterproofing membranes)

• 1 × 10 mm riser can be added from the 20/30 mm model

• Up to 4 × 60 mm risers compatible from the 50/80 mm model up to 140/230 mm

Installation Advice

Place a protective layer under each pedestal (geotextile fabric or shock-absorbing pad) to prevent friction, abrasion and heat transfer on the membrane.

• Fixed pedestal: 10 mm

• Adjustable pedestals: from 8/20 mm up to 150/260 mm

• Self-levelling pedestals: from 50/65 mm up to 175/285 mm

Always check the total height required for your project, including an additional 20 mm for tiles or decking boards.
